An Early Birthday Surprise
I have been looking forward to this past weekend for months. It was my girls' weekend with 4 of my pledge sisters. We have done it almost every year since college. The past couple of years have been at the beach. Since we all have kids, some with 2, we graduated to a 3 bedroom condo that belongs to Sarah's parents. They were so generous to let us use it for our girls' weekend. We pretty much were beach bums for 2 days. But, little did I know, (well, I knew absolutely nothing) there was a surprise waiting for me Saturday night. It had been in the works for months. My precious parents contacted them to plan a surprise for my 30th birthday. Of course my parents weren't there, but they definitley made sure we had a great time on them. After stalling for 20 minutes after we all were ready to go out for the night, we walked out of the elevator and there was a limo. I walked toward the car, while everyone else walked towards the limo. Then they all said surprise. I stopped...and cried. I was so happy! We got in and drank champagne on the way to Marina Cafe. The food was the best I ever tasted. After full bellies, we decided to dance some calories off at a piano bar called Rum Runners. We had to show about 5 bachelorette parties how to dance. Then we headed home. I can't thank my parents and friends enough for the wonderful surprise...and I'm not even 30 yet. It will be a night I will never forget!
