"We" survived the first 2 weeks of Kindergarten!

I say "we" because we all had some adjustments to get used to. Abby had to learn to go to bed earlier, pick out her clothes the night before (which is a huge challenge now), wake up early in time to get ready and eat breakfast, get to school on time, stay the whole day, and come home and play, eat dinner and start all over again. Hudson had to learn to be without Abby for the first time on a daily basis, say good-bye to her in the morning and wondering why he isn't going too, and have to be woken up from his nap to sit in a carpool line to pick up Abby. Daddy gets the privledge of dropping Abby off at school every morning. Even though it's not very far away, they still get to chat in the mornings. The first few mornings Daddy could walk her to the door but no holding hands, but now it's watch Abby walk down the hall and maybe get a wave from her as she walks in (how do they learn so early???). And Mommy...my baby girl is now in Kindergarten. All this summer it was sinking in day by day but never really fully sank in until she had her first day. Since Abby has always loved school and was so excited and ready for Kindergarten, I wasn't too upset about her going off to school. I knew she was going to have so much fun and learn a lot of new and exciting things. My adjustments have been the normal adjustments for a mom, but seeing Abby smile everyday after school and excited about her friends, math class, lunch, recess, PE,and "homework" makes my heart smile too.
