Hudson's first year

video

This is a video I put together for Hudson's party. If you need a video for a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary, rehearsal dinner, or wedding, vist http://www.snapdesign.blogspot.com/ for more information. I would love to put your memories in motion

Hudson's invitation...he likes things that go! He wanted to be part of the book, so there he is in his favorite toy, his car buggy.

Hudson's Birthday "Party"

Friday, I was getting the house ready for Hudson's 1st birthday party. My parents had come into town for the party and to help me set up. Well, about 45 minutes after Abby went to bed, we heard her start crying. I'll leave out the details, but she ended up having a little stomach bug. Brent and I decided to call off the party because we didn't want anyone else to get the bug if she actually had one. We knew Hudson wouldn't know the difference, but Abby had been waiting weeks for her brother's party. She had been helping me plan it. She was ready to share all her toys with her friends. Saturday morning came and she was fine. Luckily, whatever caused her to get sick, only stayed for a few hours. She woke up ready for Hudson's party. I had to break the news to her that Hudson's friends weren't coming BUT we were going to have a fun, small party with family. She was OK with that (i was worried she would not take it well). Nana came over later and along with Honey and Pop Pop, we celebrated Hudson's birthday. I canceld his real birthday cake, but went and got a small one for him and a medium size one for the rest of us. All in all, Hudson had a great 1st birthday. Here are some pictures from his birthday and "party."

After church on Wednesday night, we opened his presents. He loved it.

Daddy and his 1 year oldHe loves to push cars, trains, and things that have wheels

I left up these decorations. I took pictures of him every 2 weeks of his life. I put them on wheels, and hung them on the wall. Hudson loved looking at himself

Another Steal at Kroger
Guess how much I paid for 24 cans of pillsbury crescents/cinnamin rolls? It's actually a trick question because I MADE $4! How? I am glad you asked. A few weeks ago, these items were on sale for $1 each. Kroger had run out by the time I got there, so I asked for a raincheck. Then, on my previous Kroger run, a catalina (a coupon that prints with your receipt), printed out that said for every 4 pillsbury refrigerated items you buy, you recieve $2 off your next order (in form of a catalina coupon), for every 5, you receive $3 off, and for every 6+, you receive $4. So, I gathered my coupons that said $1 off 2 or $.50 off 2(it automatically doubles) and my raincheck and headed to Kroger. I paid for 6 at a time, using 3 coupons, paid $3 and recieved $4 back (see below). I added one other item so the coupon would cover the following order. So, after 4 transactions, 24 cans of pillsbury, a few other items needed, I have a $4 catalina to use on my next trip to Kroger...or Publix (they take competitor coupons).
You can do this too. The catalina deal expires on 2/21. Start printing your pillsbury coupons at coupons.com, smartsource.com, and redplum.com. You can also look in your weekly inserts from the Sunday paper. Wait and see if Kroger has another $10 for $10 deal, and go make some money. If they don't have another $10 for $10, it's still a good deal.

Kroger Mega Event
I usually grocery shop at Publix because they have the best deals, but when Kroger has Mega Events, you can walk out with a lot of stuff for very little. With 2 separate transactions, I saved an average of 92%! I walked away with almost $50 worth of groceries for $3.79. I should have saved $5 more but the coupon that was suppose to print out on my second transaction did not print out. I even talked to the manager, but no $5 coupon. He will report it to Atlanta so hopefully it won't happen again. Oh well...I still did really good though. Let's go Krogering!

Slumber Party
Libby came over to Honey and Pop Pop's house to spend the night last weekend. They played very well together. They played dress up, beach trip, grocery shopping, and much more. After many wardrobe changes, chocolate ice cream, and a story from Honey, it was time for bed...or was it? Honey thought it would be a fun idea if they slept in the same bed. It was a fun idea in theory. It took a good 2 hours for them to finally get to sleep...eventually in separate rooms. All in all, it was a great slumber party. The next day, it was very pretty and and the girls had a picnic and Hudson was ready for his buggy ride!

Hudson is 50 weeks!
My little baby is almsot one. I can hardly believe it. He is everywhere and in to everything. If there are stairs anywhere near him, he will go straight to them. I wouldn't think an almost one year old knows any better, but when he starts crawling towards the stairs, looks back at me, smiles, and I tell him no, he turns his head and sprints to the stairs laughing the whole way. He also likes to pull Abby's hair, bites me on the shoulder, and is fascinated with electrical cords. He isn't walking by himself yet but cruises the furniture and will hold one hand and walk some. He loves to push his walking toys too. He has 2 teeth on the bottom and three teeth up top with another one coming in. He finally is consistently eating table food. The only thing is he changes his mind every meal. One day he will eat mac and cheese and peas, then the next day he will spit it out. I never know what he will eat. I love this little guy!
