Christmas in Collierville

We packed up the car and headed to Collierville (Memphis) for part of the Christmas holidays. Abby couldn't wait to see her cousin Libby...and also Knox, Honey, Pop Pop, KK, and Blake. We celebrated the Bourland/Collins Christmas on Dec 27. The kids and Honey made a birthday cake for Jesus. Abby thought chocolate would be Jesus' favorite. She wondered if he was going to blow out the candles. She was happy to blow them out for him. Then we opened presents. A mix of toys and clothes delighted everyone. The adults always draw names for stockings so we even got some surprises.

Christmas Eve is when all my extended family comes over for dinner and gift card dirty Santa. It's always great to catch up with everyone. We missed seeing Hallie and Martin! After eating and visiting, the always anticipated game of dirty santa. We used to draw names and give gifts, but this is so much more fun. Everyone brings a $25 gift card and then draws numbers. Brent and I left with a Home Depot and Paisley (a cute boutique in Collierville...I actually brought it...there are no rules about taking home what you brought!) gift card. Before bed, Abby was very busy. She set out birthday cake and milk for Santa, wrote him a letter, sprinkled the reindeer food in the grass, and told her elf, Anabelle, bye. Then off to dreamland...

Chrismas morning was great. Abby was very excited about her new stuff from Santa. She told everyone 3 things she wanted...a big girl bike, big girl make-up, and a vacuum. santa remembered and brought her all three. She actually went to her stocking first with a lot of little goodies. Hudson loved his presents too. He has been playing with Abby's old baby toys, so he did not have many boy toys. Luckily, Abby told Santa that he wanted cars, trucks, books, and puzzles. And Santa remembered that too. Hudson's favorite present was a ride in buggy. He stayed in it 75% of Christmas day. A few minutes outside, but the rest of the time he rode around inside the house. After a great time in Collierville, we were off to Decatur for Christmas with the Collins family

Christmas came early in Decatur
We celebrated Christmas a little early in Decatur before we went to Honey and Pop Pop's house. Abby was very excited to give Hudson the piggy bank she picked out for him. They loved opening presents and then playing with their new toys. Abby loves to play with her Scribble and Write which helps her write her letters. Hudson loves the piggy bank and shape sorter. The first of many Christmas memories!

Before Christmas...
Abby was an angel in her choir Christmas program

She knew the words to her songs but she did not sing a lot...the live audience and the kids behind her were very distracting Brent and I went to the Decatur General Foundation Gala. It's a black tie event to raise money for the hospital

Pop Pop drove to Decatur from Memphis to keep the kids

This is Tyrone Smith...at the beginning of the night This is Tyrone as "Super T" by the end of the night The kids saw Santa Claus

Abby's choir sang in church

She did a lot better this time

We took Nana to lunch for her birthday

Submit for $10 rebate from Sonicare (I've registered and should receive an email within 24 hours about $29.99 in rebates)
