Why I like to shop at Publix...
1. It is very clean, easy to find items, and has an array of specialty items including organic foods
2. It has great Buy One Get One Deals, and you don't have to buy 2
3. It accepts competitor coupons including Target, Walgreens, Food Lion, etc
4. The employees are very nice and patient, especially when I hand them a handful of coupons
5. And...finally...it is possible to save more than you spend!
Since I have been an avid couponer for 2 months, my 2 goals were to go to the grocery store and A) spend less than $100 for a weeks worth of groceries and B) save more than I spend. I accomlished the under $100 mark last week and this week I saved $111.87 and spent $75.96.
I used to dread going to the grocery store but now I take it as a challenge to see how much I can save. I now go at night or the one day both my kids are in school in the morning. It's hard enough figuring out which item the coupon is for without kids crying, picking up breakable jars, etc. I am a Dave Ramsey fan, so I bring my grocery cash along with my stack of coupons to the store. I also label my receipts so at the end of the month, I know what I bought and how much it cost. I have a couple of deals I want to try hopefully tomorrow (or Wednesday), so I'll let you know if it works and what they are.
