Decatur High Homecoming Parade
On Friday, the kids and I met some friends at the parade. We've been to it for several years. There are floats, cheerleaders, the band, police, firetrucks, ...oh yeah, and CANDY. Abby could not wait to get her hands on some candy. Last year she got a few pieces, but this year, she learned how to run and get the candy instead of waiting for me to get it for her. Hudson just chilled in his stroller until the firetruck came and Mommy's friend picked him up out of the stroller...then he was content again. We did not know if we would be able to go because of the threat of thunderstorms. It was sunny and blue skies at 3:20pm when we left for the parade. At 4:05pm, after buckling Abby and Hudson in their carseats, it started pouring. Luckily it only lasted a few hours because Abby wanted to go see the football game with Daddy and go eat at Hacienda, or Mi Hacienda which is the real name of the restaurant. One of our youth group girls was homecoming queen, and Abby couldn't stop talking about her crown. She said that she looked like a princess...Belle to be exact.
Abby wanted to stoll Hudson "all by herself" (I only hear that 100 times a day)
Eating a snack and waiting for the parade to start
Mary Emma and Gracie are Abby's friends and classmates
Hudson will be more into the parade next year
Lillianna is Abby's friend that moved to MS. We sure do miss her and her family

Abby was very distressed when the last car rode by and there was no more candy
