Amateur Couponer
Coupons. I have seen them. Haven't really seen the point of a 40 cent coupon. Then I googled coupon. WARNING...google at your own risk. I have used them here and there but never like this before. I have become a little obsessed with it. For the past 2 weeks, I've been searching the blog world for all of the coupon sites. At the beginning of the month, I went to the grocery store the way I always had, with maybe a few coupons I received with my last reciept. I saved 16%. Not bad. The next week, I started a little web browsing but did not have the Sunday inserts. I went with a few Kroger coupons, some internet coupons, and a list of what was on sale. I saved 27%. The next Sunday, I spent time clipping coupons from the Sunday paper and researching what some of the blogs said were the best deals. That took many hours with the best time being at the kids' nap time. I saved 33%. I doubled my percentage within 2 weeks! I'm not planning on goinging to Kroger and expect to get $100 of groceries for 1 penny, but at least I am progressing.

I also have branched out to research Target and Walgreens. Tonight, I went to Walgreens with my coupons and strategy written down...I know I'm a dork, but a dork that saves money. I went after the kids were in bed b/c I knew I would need a lot of concetration...and fewer customers (you have to do multiple transactions to save the most money. I won't go into all the details now, but I spent $25, saved $35, and have $8 in register rewards to spend at my next purchase. And I can use all the products I bought. This was my first attempt at Walgreens. It was not simple, but I think the more and more I do it, I will save more each time.
This is what I got: 2 rolls of tp(1000 sheets each), aluminum foil, 2 rolls of paper towels, 2 night time cough and cold triaminic strips, 2 pieces of $.39 candy (my filler items), 3 John Frieda products, 2 neosporin products, True North Almond Crisps, 2 Crest toothpaste

The main websites visit are:

Until my next saving extravaganza.

A girl after my own heart!! I saved 50% on my groceries this week at Winn Dixie and Publix! AND I always pay very little for all the things I get at CVS!! It makes me SO EXCITED when I get all of my stuff ready on Sunday afternoon to see how much I save on Monday!! I read Frugal Coupon Living all the time (she came and spoke at our MOPS meeting) and Moms Need to Know. The others are all cross referenced so much that's all I found I need to read.
Ashley & I (and our boys) are going to be in H'selle next week. We're coming on Monday. Want to hang out?? :)
(Sorry for the extra long comment!)
