Roadtrip
Abby and I decided to take a roadtrip to Memphis. Daddy went on a golf trip to Pinehurst with my brother, dad, and uncle, so we wanted to go on a trip ourselves. She know exactly who she will see when she goes to Memphis. Thursday, Honey, Abby and I met Kelly, Libby, and Knox at storytime. Libby was good and listened to the story, but Abby wandered around. She did like to sing the songs with Libby. Pop Pop surprised us at storytime. Then we ate a great lunch. Friday, we went swimming with my friend Finy from high school and her son Walker. Abby loves to swim, but I had to keep her from jumping in without her floaties on. She was ready to swim. She did not need me anymore. She kicked all around the pool. Those swimming lessons must have paid off. Saturday, we did a little shopping and chilled in the afternoon. Then Honey got the hose out and Abby had to play in the water.

Sunday, I left to come back to Decatur, while Abby stayed with Honey. Abby is out of school and I need to work, so she is still vacationing in Memphis. I remember traveling to Dallas to stay with my grandparents every summer. I loved it, especially b/c I did what ever I wanted to do. My grandmother made the best sweet tea (that was before I lived in AL where there is sweet tea everywhere). My grandfather would always go to the donut shop before I got up to get me two chocolate donuts with sprinkles and chocolate milk. Then we would all watch the Price is Right and Young and the Restless (my parents did not like that part!). I'm glad Abby gets to spend time with all 4 of her grandparents. She always gets excited when I tell her we are going to Nana and Papa's house or going to Memphis to see Honey and Pop Pop. Abby is the luckiest girl in the world!

So last night, spent the night in my house by myself, not even Scout was there. I can't tell you the last time I did that. I locked every door that could be locked and then wedged the ironing board behind my bedroom door. I already thought of my escape route if anyone broke in. Usually I can't lock my door because I have to be ready to go grab Abby and then escape. But last night, with no guard dog, I laid in bed thinking if I had the right escape plan. Finally I fell asleep and woke up with all the doors still locked and the ironing board still wedged under my door knob. I was safe and sound!

Abby always asks for lemon at lunch. Even though she looks like this after she tastes it, she does it over and over again

Libby was glad to stand up in her high chair and smile for the camera

Here's Knox sleeping through all the noise

It's water time!
