Abby's Birthday Party
Abby had a great 2nd birthday party. It was a book theme since Abby loves books. We had all kinds of books including Dora, Elmo, The Very Hungry Catepillar and Snow White. Everyone made a bookmark that will be laminated so they can keep it for a long time. Some drew and some put stickers on them. We also asked that the guests bring a book to donate to a local agency here in Decatur called PACT (Parents and Children Togther). They try to help prevent child abuse. They have a great program that educates moms-to-be who really do not know what to do during pregnancy and after their child is born. They have classes and different ways to earn baby bucks to spend in the baby boutique. We collected 31 new books! Thanks to all the friends who gave a book or books to PACT. I know that they can use these books to help encourage moms and dads to read to their children. Along with many bubbles, sidewalk chalk, outside toys, and of course books, everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. If anyone got hungry, they could munch on veggies from Rabbit's Garden, Boots' Bananas, "Un"poisonous apples, and loaves and fish (pizza roles and goldfish). Abby's favorite part was the cake and ice cream. That is all she could talk about ever since Brent walked in with the Elmo cake. As everyone left, they received a CD with all of Abby's favorite songs on it (some featured in video below). I can'tbelieve I finally have a 2 year old!!!
