Sunny L.A.
Brent and I went to L.A. last week for work/vacation. Brent worked and I vacationed. Brent did get some time to play in L.A. before his training started. We rented a convertible to enjoy the gorgeous weather. After arriving on Monday afternoon, we went to Koi, a japanese restaurant with great sushi, for dinner. It was delicious! On our way in we saw David Spade at Koi, our first and unfortuately only celebrity sighting. After we got our car from the valet, David walked out and the paparazzi swarmed around him. It was funny to see them in action.
The next day we went to eat at The Ivy and shop on Robertson Blvd. It has many boutiques that celebrities frequent like Kitson and Lisa Kline. It was fun to look. Then we drove around Beverly Hills and looked at many huge houses, or should I say gates. Pretty much every other car was a Mercedes or Range Rover.
The next night, we went to the Newsroom with Brent's co-worker and wife. It's also on Robertson Blvd. Then we went to the Sky Bar on Sunset to relax and enjoy a little night life.
After Brent finished his training on Thursday, we played golf, I read and he played. He did not know he was going to play until I showed up at the airport with his golf clubs. I had already made a tee time at the golf course at the Palms, where we stayed. He loved the surprise and enjoyed his round of golf.
It was finally time to return to Decatur. It's always sad to leave a vacation, but when you have a precious daughter to come home to, it's something to look forward to.
